Palmetto Care Connections (PCC) is thrilled to celebrate the 25 participants from Williamsburg County who completed our Digital Literacy Training on Tuesday, February 25th. The class was filled to capacity, and we are proud to announce that every single participant showed up and actively engaged throughout the session, demonstrating a commitment to enhancing their digital skills.
During the training, attendees were introduced to essential digital tools, including email basics, using Zoom for virtual communication, and navigating telehealth visits—key skills that are becoming increasingly important in today’s world. The session also covered cybersecurity best practices, empowering participants with the knowledge they need to protect their personal information online.
This training session was made possible thanks to funding from the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance. The grant allowed PCC to provide each participant with a brand-new tablet and a full year of cellular service, ensuring that they have the resources to stay connected and continue learning.
“We’re incredibly proud to support this program and provide participants with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world,” said Victoria Hamilton, Digital Navigation Program Manager with the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance. “Access to technology and the skills to use it effectively are essential for everything from job opportunities to healthcare access, and we’re excited to see these graduates put their knowledge into practice.”
We would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Veronica Cooper for her invaluable assistance in making this event a success. Additionally, we appreciate the support of local leadership, with Mayor Darren Tisdale, Councilman Derek Fitts, and Town Manager Kippton Coker all taking the time to visit. Your support is vital in helping us continue to serve the wonderful community of Kingstree and beyond.
PCC is excited to continue offering programs that bridge the digital divide and provide valuable skills to communities across South Carolina. Congratulations once again to all the graduates—we can’t wait to see how you use your newfound knowledge!
