On February 20, 2025, Palmetto Care Connections held a fun and informative telehealth demonstration at the Allendale County Office on Aging. This event gave local seniors a chance to learn how telehealth works and how it can make healthcare more convenient.

Caroline Warren and Kamryn Williams from PCC led the demonstration, walking the group through a pretend telehealth visit. One of the seniors volunteered to be the patient, and Caroline and Kamryn took turns explaining each step of the process. They also showed how different medical devices, like digital stethoscopes and otoscopes, are used during a virtual visit so doctors can check patients from a distance.

Along with the demonstration, PCC handed out telehealth surveys and easy-to-understand flyers to help seniors learn more about virtual healthcare. These materials explained how telehealth works and how it can help people get the care they need without always having to travel.

Around 20 seniors attended the event, and their questions and excitement showed just how interested they were in learning about this new way to access healthcare.

Events like this are a big part of PCC’s mission to make healthcare easier to reach for everyone in South Carolina. By helping people understand and use telehealth, PCC is working to make sure everyone gets the care they deserve.
